Hawk Mountain is excited to once again host the annual Birds & Brew on Saturday, August 9 from 5 to 8 p.m., a lively late-summer evening held outdoors under the big tent and in the scenic outdoor amphitheater. Proceeds directly support the Sanctuary's global raptor conservation and education mission.

Guests will enjoy unlimited tastings from over 20 local breweries, wineries, and distilleries, along with a delicious buffet dinner, live music entertainment performed by the band Six to Midnight, and meet-and-greets with live raptors. Each attendee will also receive a commemorative 6-ounce tasting glass, as well as access to non-alcoholic drinks and snacks.

“Support raptor conservation by spending an evening on the Mountain at the coolest fundraiser of the year,” says event coordinator Tammy Jandrasitz-Bodey. “Ticket fees directly support Hawk Mountain’s education and conservation research efforts. In return, guests will enjoy listening to the talented Six to Midnight band, beer and spirit tasting, good food, and meeting some of the greatest staff in raptor conservation. We’ve sold out this event every year, so don’t wait to purchase your tickets!”

Tickets are $65 per person for general admission (must be 21+ for alcohol sampling), and $35 for designated drivers and those under 21, which includes food and non-alcoholic beverages. All attendees must present a valid ID at entry. Guests sampling alcohol will receive a wristband and are encouraged to drink responsibly. No refunds. Event is held rain or shine under a tented area.

This year, the high-quality dinner is provided by Brother’s BBQ, and an ice truck will be provided by Country Beverage. This event is made possible thanks to lead sponsor Explore Schuylkill and several private donors.

Limited edition Birds & Brew t-shirts will be available while supplies last and can be preordered for $10 by contacting Tammy at [email protected] or 610-756-6000 ext 215.

This event also acts as a kickoff for the Autumn Migration season, which officially begins on August 15. Starting that following Friday, Sanctuary staff, trainees, and volunteers will be stationed at the lookouts daily, counting every bird that passes. Learn more about the Autumn Hawk Watch here.
