Diversity & Inclusion Statement

Hawk Mountain Sanctuary recognizes that just as biological diversity strengthens ecosystems, so, too, does embracing human diversity strengthen our efforts to conserve birds of prey around the world.  We are committed to increasing the diversity and inclusivity of our entire community, from staff and board to volunteers and affiliates in our network.  Our trainee network includes alumni from 75 different countries, with 60 percent of our graduates being female, yet we realize conservation organizations must do better. Hawk Mountain is committed to being a leader on this front. Just as migrating raptors transcend political boundaries and borders, as an organization we strive to reflect the diverse racial and cultural backgrounds and perspectives that enrich our community.  Such diversity is a source of strength and wisdom, and it provides an important resource in the pursuit of our conservation mission.

Hawk Mountain Sanctuary welcomes input from our community so, if at any time, you have specific questions or concerns, please contact us:
