We want to make learning about raptors interactive for all ages. Available in the Visitor Center Mountain Bookstore are a selection of children's books, coloring/activity books, puzzles, educational species posters, and more. Engage in hands-on and creative learning!

Percy the Victorious Vulture

Learn about the true story of Percy, a flightless Black Vulture tagged in July 2010, and his real life dilemmas and how he conquers them right here in the Kempton valley. Children can discover the importance of vultures and also what it means to truly persevere.


The Raptors of Hawk Mountain

This coloring book provides information and colored illustrations of the Sanctuary's 16 species of migrating raptors. Great for all ages!


Kestrels of the World

This coloring book depicts the different kestrels from around the world! A fun and colorful way to study these unique birds.


The Vultures of Africa

This coloring book depicts the different vultures of Africa, of which many of Hawk Mountain's staff and collaborators are currently researching and working to conserve.


Les Vautours D' Afrique

This is the same coloring book as The Vultures of Africa, but in French!


New World Vultures Activity Book

This Activity Book engages children in a fun and interactive education of New World Vultures, which are the vulture species seen in the Americas. Spiral-bound copies are available for purchase through the Hawk Mountain Sanctuary Bookstore.
