Looking for a summer adventure close to home? Hawk Mountain is making it easier than ever to enjoy the outdoors with its new Summer Staycation Specials, a series of themed visitation days designed to help guests discover all that the Sanctuary has to offer at a discount.
Running throughout July and August, the Summer Staycation Specials encourage potential visitors to experience the world's first sanctuary for birds of prey through weekly activities, scenic hiking opportunities, and family-friendly encounters with nature. There's something for everyone!
Visitors who attend on any designated Staycation Special day will receive half-price trail admission or $15 off a Hawk Mountain membership. Current Mountain Members can also enjoy 25% off merchandise purchases in the Mountain Bookstore (excluding food, beverages, sale items, and optics).
The schedule includes:
Make a Mountain Memory Monday
July 6 and August 3
Staff will be stationed at South Lookout from 10 AM to 1:30 PM to take photos of visitors to capture their Hawk Mountain experience.
Take to the Trail Tuesday
July 14 and August 11
Explore Hawk Mountain's eight miles of trails and take in the Sanctuary's breathtaking scenic vistas.
Wildflower Wednesday
July 22 and August 19
Visit the Native Habitat Garden between 11 AM – 2 PM to discover what's blooming and chat with a naturalist about local plants and pollinators.
Talon Time Thursday
July 30 and August 27
Meet and greet with one of Hawk Mountain's educators and a LIVE avian ambassador from 11 AM – 2 PM.
