An Update Regarding COVID-19

Posted on March 12, 2020 in General

Dear Hawk Mountain Friends,

Hawk Mountain holds the health and safety of its members, visitors, supporters and friends as its highest priority. As the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread, we want you to know that Hawk Mountain is being proactive in order to better protect you, our volunteers, and employees. The Visitor Center and trails remain open and we are making every effort to ensure you feel safe, comfortable and welcome.

We continue to closely monitor and follow all recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and local health officials, and provide information and recommendations from the CDC at all building entrances along with sanitizing dispensers. We also are increasing the frequency and rigor of the cleaning and sanitization of all offices and facilities, including the Visitor Center, Education Building, and Acopian Center.

While today we made the decision to reschedule the April 3 showing of the film Bird of Prey, we have not changed other programming, and are updating policies for cancellations and refunds to provide you the greatest flexibility in making decisions that are best for you. We encourage you to stay at home if you are not feeling well.

All of us at Hawk Mountain understand that the coronavirus is a concern to many, and we offer our deepest sympathies to those who have already been affected. Rest assured that as the situation continues to develop, one thing will remain the same: We will make our decisions with the health and well-being of our members, customers, employees and communities as our highest priority.

As always, we are so grateful for all you have done and continue to do to support Hawk Mountain Sanctuary and to advance our local-to-global raptor conservation mission.

Yours in health and conservation,

Sean Grace
President
