You and nine of your friends can enjoy a unique opportunity for a personal, guided natural history hike around Hawk Mountain Sanctuary lands or a nearby area of your choice within 15 miles hosted by Director of Conservation Science Dr. Laurie Goodrich and Kutztown University Professor of Biology Dr. Chris Sacchi. Learn about the birds and plants of the Appalachians, or have experts survey your property or favorite nearby natural area! Lunch will be provided.

Visit Scotland on a Guided Tour for Two

Speyside Wildlife Guided Tour for Two   

Hosted by members of the Speyside Wildlife team, two lucky guests will enjoy a fully inclusive guided wildlife tour in Scotland! Room accommodations and meals are included in this truly one-of-a-kind experience, but airfare is not included. Select one of three trips, as follows:

Option 1: Spring Birds in Speyside
May 18 to 25 or May 25 to June 1, 2019
The classic signature week highlighting the birds most active during this season, including the Capercaillie and Black Grouse.

Option 2: Scottish Mammals in Summer
August 3 to 10, 2019
During this expedition, the winning bidder and guest will have the opportunity to view a superb selection of Scottish mammals and other wildlife, including the Badger, Pine Martin, Bottlenose Dolphins and European Beaver.

Option 3: Autumn Wildlife in Speyside
September 28 to October 5 or October 5 to 12, 2019
Due to the array of colors, hunting eagles, seaducks and other rarities, an autumn trip is bound to provide a wonderful and momentous trip.

Black Vulture Field Excursion

Spend a fun day in the field with David Barber to learn more about the very latest research project at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary: A study of locally-nesting black vultures in nearby barns. You and a small group of four to six will join David in the morning to visit a nest, wing-tag fuzzy black vulture chicks, and then head back to the Acopian Center for lunch and to talk about this interesting and important work.

Available July 8-19, 2019, when black vulture chicks are monitored and tagged.

American Kestrel Nestbox and Broad-winged Hawk Research:
Nest Visits with Overnight Stay at Hawk Mountain  

Hawk Mountain Sanctuary has been studying the breeding, wintering and migratory habits of the American Kestrels for more than 50 years and monitors more than 200 kestrel nestboxes placed in a 25-mile radius of Hawk Mountain. Several years ago, Hawk Mountain expanded its research to the Broad-winged Hawk, a long-distance migrant and Pennsylvania breeding bird.

The winning bidder and up to four guests will have the opportunity to learn about each program firsthand, including visits to at least one local nest sites. Topping off this educational and entertaining day will be an overnight stay in Hawk Mountain's well-appointed and newly updated Education Building apartment. 

Lunch will be provided as well as a gift card towards dinner. Light snacks and drinks are offered in the apartment, which has three separate bedrooms (2 double, 1 single) with shared and spacious living room, bathroom and kitchen.

This experience will take place on a mutually-agreeable date between June and mid-July 2019, during the nesting season.
