B.S. in Environmental, Evolutionary and Ecology Biology and a minor in Geography.

After graduating from Appalachian State University, Jess went to work for North Carolina's Parks and Recreation. From there she discovered her joy and passion for environmental education. She went on to build upon her animal care and husbandry skills at the Alabama 4-H Science School where she worked with everything from birds of prey to alligators.

With over a decade of experience, Jess has found her way to Hawk Mountain and coordinates the 8 weeks of Summer Nature Camp, as well as scheduling events, programs, and field trips at the Sanctuary.

When not on the job, Jess enjoys baking, a plethora of crafts, and board games of all kinds.
