Amber is an avian and wildlife conservation professional with more than 15 years of experience leading research and monitoring projects across the Northeast. She has worked with organizations including Penn State University and the U.S. Geological Survey, directing wildlife monitoring efforts, developing survey protocols, and training and coordinating volunteer field crews. Amber has extensive field research experience, including forest bird studies in Pennsylvania and collaborative bird surveys in Puerto Rico. She earned a master’s degree in ecology and evolutionary biology from Iowa State University, where she studied the breeding-season ecology of the Puerto Rican Bullfinch, and completed undergraduate research on the winter ecology of the black-and-white warbler. In addition to her professional work, Amber participates in USGS breeding bird surveys and volunteers as a Penn State Master Gardener.
