In celebration of Hawk Mountain’s 90th anniversary, we invite you to join us for a full-day trainee symposium featuring talks and discussions with alumni interns and trainees from around the world as they share their work in education and science. Hear first-hand about the challenges, success, and future of global raptor conservation—a perfect way to spend World Migratory Bird Day and celebrate the Sanctuary's anniversary!

Ticket holders will receive a wristband that allows them to come and go from the talks as they wish, as well as admission to Sanctuary trails for the day. Several food trucks will be available for lunch.

11:45 AM - Feathers and Power: Why you Should Study (and care about) South America's Raptors – Diego Méndez (Bolivia, Conservation Science Trainee 2015)

2:00 PM - Batumi Raptor Count: Lessons from 15 years of Raptor Migration Surveys at One of the World’s Largest Raptor Migration Bottlenecks in the Eastern Black Sea flyway – Wouter Vansteelant (Belgium, Leadership Trainee 2011)  
2:45 PM - Bridging Birding, Conservation and Photography in Kenya – Martha Nzisa (Kenya, Conservation Science Trainee 2010)

4:15 PM - Migrating Raptor Conservation Priorities Overview and Panel Discussion led by Todd Katzner (USA, Leadership Trainee 2003) and Ana Maria Castaño (Colombia, Conservation Science Trainee 1998)
