Star Watch atop Hawk Mountain

$15 for Members
Raptors aren't the only things you can see if you look heavenward. The night sky is interesting too! Recently, the northern lights have been witnessed by many observers across the country, including the Lehigh Valley, and this year, another spectacular occurrence could happen. We will examine what produces auroras and how you can monitor them.
Before attending this program, download the SpaceWeatherLive app to your smartphone. Participants will have the opportunity to view celestial objects through telescopes and hear some of the mythologies associated with the constellations above the dark skies of Hawk Mountain. Bring your binoculars and flashlights.
Telescopes will be provided for viewing. The observing session will be preceded by a program in Hawk Mountain's outdoor amphitheater.
Rain date is Saturday, August 30.
