This mama Killdeer (Charadrius vociferus) definitely wins the mom of the year award here. Sitting all day out in the open under the pouring rain and hot sun, she never leaves her clutch even in the worst conditions. Many killdeer pairs end up nesting in stony drives and other similar terrain, so watch where you step!
