This morning, a flock of common redpolls (Acanthis flammea) was spotted by volunteer counter Paul Heveran while conducting a bird survey near our River of Rocks.
Common redpolls are part of the finch family and likes a shrubbery/thicket habitat. They are identifiable by their brown streaking and small red crown. Adult males also have a pink-washed chest.
