Blooming Mountain Laurel surrounded by its evergreen leaves

Blooming Mountain Laurel (Kalmia latifolia) has recently been spotted around Hawk Mountain’s Visitor Center. These gnarled stemmed, evergreen shrubs produce beautiful pink and white blooms in the late spring and early summer.

The Mountain Laurel is native to the eastern United States and is both Pennsylvania and Connecticut’s official State Flower!
