Jim Lefik
Natrona Heights, PA
Elected July 2023. First term ends 2027.
A graduate of the Pennsylvania State University with degrees in Electrical Engineering Technology, Jim spent nearly 25 years with the Allegheny County Health Department’s Air Quality Division in Pittsburgh, PA, before serving in his current position as an engineer in FirstEnergy Corporation’s Environmental Department beginning in 2007. In addition to his role in air permitting and regulatory compliance, he is an integral member of FirstEnergy’s Avian Protection Program team, with the goal of protecting migratory birds from the hazards associated with the extensive electric power generation, transmission, and distribution systems.
A lifelong resident of the Western Pennsylvania region, Jim enjoys the great outdoors, astronomy, nature conservation and photography, gardening, tennis, and leading an active and healthy lifestyle. He has volunteered at a PA State Park assisting with the Environmental Education Program and landscaping with native plants. He strongly believes that the importance of teaching the public and especially children of the beauty of all living things cannot be overestimated. He is also an enthusiast of anything that flies, either on its own like our feathered friends, or with the help of our technology including aircraft, rockets, and other spacecraft.
