Hawk Mountain Volunteers Giving Back
Traffic and Parking Detail
Teamwork is the key to keeping traffic flowing through the parking lots. This congenial group also provides information to visitors while enjoying the outdoors.
"Keepers of the Gate"
Gatekeepers greet visitors, check membership cards and tickets. They also provide information about trails, programs and memberships.
Keeping in touch with members, contacting businesses and other volunteers is important to the day to day operation of Hawk Mountain.
Bookstore assistants have the opportunity to meet visitors from all around the world while assisting with sales and providing information.
The highly social mailing crew keeps Sanctuary communications to members up to date by preparing membership, special events and other important correspondence.
Volunteers provide much needed support to all Sanctuary departments. Computer skills are also valuable in many ways.
Trail and Ground Maintenance
Spring and summer is the time to upgrade trails and grounds for the many hikers and visitors who come to enjoy all Hawk Mountain has to offer.
Assisting staff with education programs can lead to opportunities as an education volunteer that includes group introductions and weekend programs. (Training required)
Provide information about all aspects of Sanctuary, i.e., membership, facilities, trails, etc.; indoors, but outdoor option on fall weekends.
When you volunteer at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, you're not only helping the environment you live in, but you're sparking inspiration in those that visit this mountain refuge.
