Diversity & Inclusion Statement

Hawk Mountain Sanctuary recognizes that just as biological diversity strengthens ecosystems, embracing human diversity strengthens our efforts to conserve birds of prey worldwide. We recognize that promoting equity within our community is intertwined with successful conservation. Hawk Mountain is committed to being a leader on this front. Our trainee network includes alumni from 75 countries, with 60 percent of graduates being female.

Just as migrating raptors transcend political, cultural, and social boundaries, as an organization we also strive to embrace the diverse racial, ethnic, cultural, economic, sexual orientations, and gender identities and perspectives that enrich our global community. Such diversity is a source of strength and wisdom, and provides an important resource in the pursuit of our conservation mission. We work to recruit and develop a community that will create a diverse, inclusive, and equitable organization that reflects our global mission, from staff and board to trainees, collaborators, volunteers, visitors, supporters, and partners.

Hawk Mountain Sanctuary strives to meet the highest ethical and professional standards, is committed to transparency, and holds itself accountable to the mission, this statement, the public, and our supporters.

Hawk Mountain always welcomes your input. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact us today:
