Citizen Science

Child with backpack and lantern walking through forest and fireflies

Anyone can get involved and do their part to assist field researchers locally and regionally! Everyone views the world differently, and can be a valuable asset to data collection.

Kids have a particularly unique ability to pick out details within the natural world and make surprising discoveries that many adults miss! Through engagement in citizen science, kids have the opportunity to test their hand at data collection and become nature investigators with a sense of purpose. Their observations have the potential to make it into scientific studies, changing the world for the better, and allowing them to see science and nature in a new light. From birds to butterflies, there’s a citizen science project out there for every child.
