Hawk Mountain to host inaugural Birds & Brew

Posted on July 05, 2018 in Visitors

On Saturday, August 11, Hawk Mountain will host its inaugural Birds and Brew event from 5 to 8 PM. Proceeds directly support the Sanctuary's global conservation science research and educational programming.

Attendees will enjoy unlimited beer tastings from up to a dozen local breweries, along with high-class food, a commemorative 6 ounce glass, and live music entertainment, performed by the bluegrass group Crow Hill, all for the one-time admission price. Pre-registered admission is $50 (before Noon on Aug 11) and $60 at the door. Designated drivers and those under 21 can attend and receive food and non-alcoholic drinks for $25 pre-registered, $30 at the door.

The event takes place on the same day as Hawk Mountain's "Off to a Flying Start" migration kick-off, which celebrates the beginning of the autumn migration season, during which Sanctuary staff, volunteers, and trainees count the passing raptors and other wildlife. The event includes hands-on activities for visiting families, a raptor identification program, and the annual Mountain Raffle.

"This is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the beginning of our exciting autumn migration season with hopefully a new group of visitors. It will be a wonderful evening of fun, food, drinks, and support of the Hawk Mountain mission," says Membership and Volunteer Manager Tammy Jandrasitz, who coordinates the event.
