Hawk Mountain rejoins global Giving Tuesday Movement as official partner

Hawk Mountain Sanctuary will participate in the 2018 #GivingTuesday movement through their campaign entitled #HelptheHawks, which encourages all supporters to donate a monetary gift to the organization's Annual Fund. Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to encourage philanthropy and celebrate generosity worldwide. This is the third year the Sanctuary is participating.

Giving Tuesday is held annually on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events such as Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday. The movement kicks off the holiday giving season and inspires people to collaborate in improving their local communities and organizations.

The #HelptheHawks campaign is in place to remind supporters of the Sanctuary's main mission of global raptor conservation. Hawk Mountain has chosen specifically to promote its Annual Fund, which supports many aspects of the Sanctuary such as conservation research, education, and visitor services.

This year’s Annual Fund focuses on continuing the Sanctuary’s many  significant conservation successes, which in 2018 included partnering with Cedar Crest College to monitor over 100 kestrel nest boxes, conserving over 2400 acres under conservation easement, expanding raptor research on four continents, and training eight international conservation science trainees, three summer field experience interns, and four education interns.

"The staff at Hawk Mountain are leading such incredible work globally, from snowy owls in the Arctic, to striated caracaras in the Falkland Islands, and to threatened vultures in Africa, " says Sean Grace, President at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary. "We are a modest organization that is leading global raptor conservation, and Hawk Mountain is, no doubt, the best investment in conservation today," he adds.

Hawk Mountain can accept donations through their website at or via a mailed-in check. For more information, visit or contact Hawk Mountain Sanctuary at [email protected] or at 610-756-6961.
