Scarlet Bee Balm & Ruby-throated Hummingbird

The area around the Visitor Center is humming with sounds and sights of summer! All around the Visitor Center entrance and Native Habitat Garden, vibrant Bee Balm (Monarda didyma pictured) and the insects and birds, like this Ruby-thraoated Hummingbird (Archilochus colubris), that collect from it can be seen frequently.

American Snout

American Snout

During a peaceful walk around the Native Plant Garden, a visitor had a unique meeting with this American snout butterfly (Libytheana carinenta). This is the FIRST time this butterfly has been recorded on Sanctuary grounds!
