A brief survey of the rich geologic story involved in the formation of Hawk Mountain and the Central Appalachians. An illustrated lecture will focus on the rocks, tectonic evolution, and erosional history of the mountain and vicinity.

Following the lecture we will take a hike along the ridge, stopping at several observation points, to North Lookout.
