B.S., Environmental Studies. Joined Hawk Mountain in 2020.

As an Educator and Raptor Care Specialist Rebecca Lesko develops and teaches programs for schools, community groups, our summer camp and the public, as well as caring for the live-animal, education ambassadors. She works with the education trainees to develop their skills and increase their experience as educators.

In 1991 Rebecca first visited Hawk Mountain as a teacher-naturalist intern for Peace Valley Nature Center and has returned many, many times to hawk watch. She and her mother founded and ran a nature center where she gained experience in all aspects of running a nonprofit organization. She came to Hawk Mountain to focus on her passion: teaching, outdoors and with raptors.

When not birdwatching, botanizing, traveling, gardening or teaching yoga Rebecca volunteers for wildlife rehabilitators to provide first aid and transportation to injured wildlife, and teaching for the rehabilitators.
