New Vulture Chronicles Post: Research Serendipity

In the most recent blog post on The Vulture Chronicles, Dr. Jean-Francois Therrien, senior research biologist, discusses Hawk Mountain's newest research with black vultures nesting in local barns. 

During the team's annual summer banding of American kestrel chicks in local nest boxes, they found several black vulture nests settled in the barns the boxes were attached to. Since they are all nearby locations, this is a sustainable new monitoring program for the Sanctuary, and the team hopes to grow this project in the coming years.
