Earth Day features Recycling & Raptors

First 200 people to drop off old rechargeable batteries or cell phones will receive a $5 gift certificate for the bookstore, compliments of Covanta Energy

Join us to celebrate Earth Day on Saturday, April 21 with a week-long Call 2 Recycle campaign to collect and recycle old cell phones and rechargeable batteries. Sponsored by Covanta Energy, the Sanctuary will accept these two types of recyclables anytime between 9 am and 5 pm through Saturday, April 28.

Also on Earth Day, visitors can learn more about ways to protect birds and wildlife, participate in the spring migration watch, or hike the Sanctuary’s 8 mile trail system. Those who visit that day also may sign up for a Learn Your Trees Walk with Dr. Chris Sacchi at 1 pm, or participate in any of the regularly scheduled weekend programs.
