A passing cold front will set up ideal conditions for Columbus Day Weekend, carrying migrants on cooler, northwest winds, which are the very best for seeing hawks, eagles, and falcons up close from a Hawk Mountain overlook. Other activities include:

Saturday Evening Lecture: Oct 10 at 5:30
In a Nutshell by Dr. Michael Steele, Wilkes University. Visitor Center, FREE

WEEKEND PROGRAMS, Sat, Sun and Mon:
Raptors Up Close!  
Live raptor program at 10, Noon and 2
Outdoor Amphitheater. FREE.

Trapping and Tracking at 11:30 and 2:30 near South Lookout. Trail fee required.

Binocular Basics at 9:30 and 12:30 near South Lookout. Trail fee required.

Name that Raptor at 10:30 and 1:30 in Laurelwood Niche. Trail fee required.

SWAROVSKI SUNDAY, Sun, Oct 11
Meet reps from the Official Optics Outfitter of Hawk Mountain Sanctuary and test drive their amazing products. 10 am to 3 pm.
