All conservation begins with education. It is part of our mission is to aid educators locally, regionally, and globally in incorporating conservation education into their classroom, whether that be in a school, community program, or out in nature.

Teacher Workshops
Learn more about professional training for formal and informal educators. Workshops are Act 48 approved and cost $30 or less. There are several teacher workshops offered throughout the year for various grade levels.
Teacher Guide
Our Hawk Mountain Teacher's Guide, classroom lessons, and powerpoint presentations are designed to be resources that will help you incorporate additional learning into your current curriculum. A few of the topics included are:
- Raptor biology
- Adaptations
- Migration
- Appalachian ecology
- Hawk Mountain History and early land uses
Curricula
Hawk Mountain educators have developed several curricula to be used in a variety of learning environments for varying grade levels. These different curricula connect educators with the monitoring research of the Sanctuary's scientists, and incorporate technology (STEM) in the classroom.
